What the ticket is

The ticket is an entry ticket to Palosanto Tablao Flamenco in Valencia. Transport is not included. A tablao is a venue built for live flamenco, with a stage close to the seats and song, dance and guitar on it. You show your booking at reception when you arrive, and the tablao says the confirmation email is the only proof of access it accepts. The tablao's ticket page says each session lasts one hour. The booking calendar shows the start times for the dates on offer, so choose a date first and plan the rest of the evening around it.

Is a drink included?

No. The ticket covers entry only. The tablao's own ticket page states that a drink is not included, and that drinks are ordered, paid for and collected at the bar. You can also stay after the performance and buy one. The tablao's stage rules add that food and drink may not be placed on the stage, which is worth remembering if you carry a glass to your seat. If you plan to have a drink during the evening, treat it as a separate cost and order it at the bar when you arrive.

Where it is: El Cabanyal, not the old town

Palosanto is at Calle Francisco Baldomá 82, in El Cabanyal. That is Valencia's old fishing quarter by the sea, not the old town around the Cathedral. The tablao is beside the Cabanyal Municipal Market, in a building with a white façade, and its own website puts the beach about 200 m away. Seats: what you can and cannot choose

You cannot choose a seat. Tickets are not numbered, seats cannot be reserved, and the tablao's staff place guests as they arrive, first come, first served. They may also seat people by group size. Arriving early does not guarantee a particular seat. On full-capacity days, tables go only to groups of three or four. A ticket guarantees you a seat, but not where it is. Booking as a pair or a group does not change that, because staff decide the placement on the day. If one specific view matters a great deal to you, this is not the show to book for it.

Booking through GetYourGuide or direct

The tablao also sells tickets on its own website, so both routes lead to the same show, and the difference is the terms. Booked through GetYourGuide, you can cancel free up to 24 hours before the start for a full refund, and you can reserve now and pay later. On the tablao's own terms, the booking amount is not refunded in any case, although a date change is possible if there is space and you email at least 24 hours ahead. Neither route changes the show, the seat or the room, so pick the one whose terms suit your plans.

Other ways to see flamenco in Valencia

Visit València, the city's tourism site, lists several flamenco nights, and they differ in format. Café del Duende offers one-hour performances. Teatre Talia, in the historic centre, turns its stage into a flamenco tablao on some dates. El Toro y la Luna, in the Poblados Marítimos district, and Bulería both pair the show with dinner. The Palau de les Arts has a flamenco cycle in the City of Arts and Sciences. Palosanto is a show-only evening in El Cabanyal. Programmes and timetables change, so check each venue before you decide. Visit València does not list Palosanto on that page, so treat the list as a map of the alternatives, not a ranking.

Show only, or dinner and show?

A show-only ticket keeps the evening short and lets you choose where to eat. A dinner-and-show venue puts both in one place, which suits you if you want a single booking and a single address. Palosanto is the first kind. After the performance, the tablao's own website points guests to nearby places for dinner or a drink. Visit València describes El Cabanyal as a neighbourhood to walk through, with a market and a seafront promenade, so a meal nearby is easy to arrange. Eating there is optional, and nothing about the ticket requires it. If you would rather have dinner and show in one place, choose a venue from the dinner group above and check its own terms.

Choosing a date and time

The booking calendar and your confirmation show the start time, so rely on them. The tablao's own pages list different timetables for different days of the week, and one page mentions an extra earlier show in high season, so do not trust a timetable you saw on another site. The tablao says capacity is limited and recommends buying in advance. Doors open before the show starts, entry begins when they open, and you check your booking at reception whichever way you booked. The ticket is valid for one day, so it will not carry over if you miss the date.

Is it a good first flamenco show?

For a first show, an hour is a manageable length. The tablao says each show moves through different flamenco styles, called palos, with variety and improvisation. It names the dramatic soleá and seguiriya and the festive alegrías, so you can expect contrast within the hour. The artistic direction belongs to Verónica Pulido, a Valencian dancer. Who this isn't for

Skip this ticket if you want a drink included, a meal with the show, or a seat you choose in advance. It is also a poor fit if you hope to film the performance or join in with claps and shouts, because the tablao prohibits photos and recording and asks for silence. And if you want to stay in the old town for the whole evening, remember that the venue is in El Cabanyal, so the trip there is part of the plan.
